ABOUT THE AUTHORS
Angela Slagle and Lauri Stash are the authors of the 3rd, 4th and 5th Grade Science books.
Angela Slagle is the principal
at Britton's Neck Elementary School and a National Board Certified Teacher. She has a Masters in Early Childhood
Education from Coastal Carolina University and a Masters in Education Leadership and Supervision from the University
of South Carolina.
She taught Kindergarten at North Myrtle Beach Primary and was a Curriculum Specialist there for three years.
She then taught and was a Literacy Coach at North Myrtle Beach Elementary before becoming the principal at
Britton's Neck Elementary.
Lauri Stash is a Medical writer for a disease management company. She also served as a writer / consultant for educational publishing companies and healthcare
organizations. Lauri conducted cancer research in the Department of Molecular Biology at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation while earning a Master of Science
degree in Biology from Cleveland State University.
Karen Chenard and Annie Chatfield are the authors of the 6th, 7th and 8th Grade Science books.
Karen Chenard received her BA in History from the University of Georgia, her M.Ed. in Social Science
Education from the University of Georgia, her Ed.S. in Educational Administration and Supervision from Lincoln Memorial University, and her Ed.D. in Curriculum
and Instruction from the University of Sarasota. She has over 13 years of classroom experience. Currently
she teaches at Dalton High School in Dalton, GA.
Annie Chatfield received her BS in Biology and Chemistry from Lee University, her B.S.N. in Nursing from Eastern Michigan University and is completing post-graduate work
at the University of Texas at Austin. She has taught biology, chemistry, physics and physical
science for over 19 years. She is presently a classroom teacher at Dalton High School in Dalton, GA.
